Andy from Lima
I have written about my stay here in Lima and it's updated until Sunday. Tomorrow I got to the mountains to do some trekking and maybe even climb a mountain, we'll see. The Cordillera Blanca range is the second highest in the world after the Himalayas and the highest tropical mountain range in the world. One of the peaks is consistently described as the most beautiful in the world. We'll see how it goes. From there I will go up further north to the beach and try some surfing, and then I'll go back inland, over the mountains and take a boat down the Amazon to Iquitos, the largest city in the world unreachable by road. Afterwards I'll fly back to Lima. I may do some volunteer work along the way, Iquitos possibly is the best bet.
I'm not sad to be leaving Lima. It was good to acclimatize here but 3 weeks is more than enough. The smog and pollution got me sick and the constant noise and traffic and never-ending city is a bit much for me. I need nature and clean air.
Hope all are well at home. Please write back with your news. It's nice even to hear the little things when you're far from home. I've been homesick this week quite a bit and it would nice to hear from you all. And thanks to those that have written. I really appreciate it!!!
God bless,
Andrew
